Microsoft Chairman and CEO Bill Gates announced donations of cash and software worth $1.1 million to provide 67 libraries and schools in the Los Angeles area with multimedia computers and a variety of software, training, and support. The gift will support three programs: the Public Library's Electronic the Resources Training Center at the Central Library, the Public Library's Information Network, and the County School System's Technology for Learning program.
