Short Take: Frontier GlobalCenter builds out speedy backbone

Frontier GlobalCenter announced it will use a combination of high-end routing equipment from Cisco Systems to build a new high-speed data backbone. The $20 million deal will take Frontier's network to OC-48 speeds. Executives said the build-out was 91 percent complete, with more than 60 percent of the new network already carrying traffic. The rollout is expected to be completed in the first quarter of next year.
