Short Take: Excite names new president and COO

Excite has named John Polumbo president and chief operating officer. Formerly president and chief executive of Pacific Bell's mobile services unit, Polumbo will oversee internal management and run daily operations. The move will allow Excite chairman George Bell to focus more on external strategic development.
