Short Take: E*Trade earnings soar

Online investment service provider E*Trade reported fourth quarter revenues of $48.5 million, or 15 cents per share, up 182 percent over the same period one year ago. Net income rose to $5.5 million, versus $506,000 a year ago. Full year revenues rose 177 percent, to $142.7 million, while net income for the year reached $13.9 million, versus a loss of $828,000 last year.
