Short Take: Emachines hires new CFO

Budget PC maker Emachines has hired John Muskovich as executive vice president. Muskovich, 53, joins Irvine, Calif.-based Emachines from the Elder-Beerman Stores, where he was president. A 30-year veteran in financial management and retail operations, Muskovich spent a large part of his career with Federated Department Stores. Like a number of other PC companies, Emachines recently announced that sales have slowed in the fourth quarter.
