Short Take: Egghead reports losses

Egghead reported fourth-quarter revenues of $88.9 million, down from $96.8 million for the same quarter a year ago. But the reorganized company saw comparable store sales increase six percent. The quarter's loss was $35.9 million, or $2.05 per share, up from a loss of $3.1 million, or 18 cents per share, for last year's fourth quarter. Revenues for fiscal 1997 were $360.7 million, down from $403.8 million a year ago. Net loss for the year was $39.6 million, or $2.25 per share, up from $10.7 million, or 62 cents per share, last year.
