EarthLink Network posted a net loss of $8.4 million, or 79 cents a share, in the first quarter due to infrastructure expansion, compared with a net loss of $4.87 million for the same period in 1996. Revenues were $15.7 million, up from $3.4 million last year. EarthLink added over 250 new PoPs, bringing the total number of local dial-up access points to about 600.
