Software company Electronic Arts will buy Westwood Studios for $122.5 million. The company, famous for its sports simulations and action games, will also get certain other studio assets of Virgin Interactive Entertainment, a division of Spelling Entertainment Group, as part of the deal. Westwood is best known for its adventure games Lands of Lore, Command & Conquer, and Dune among others. The acquisition is expected to be complete in September.
