Dick Snyder, senior vice president of worldwide sales, marketing, service, and support for Compaq and one of the architects of the new build to order strategy, abruptly resigned from the company in secret last week, the company has acknowledged. Snyder came to Compaq from Dell last year. Mr. Snyder cited personal reasons for his departure.
