Cisco Systems announced a combination hardware and software intrusion detection system based on technology the company acquired from the WheelGroup. The new NetRanger system offers users a real-time approach to detection of intruders via use of a Director management software suite and a Sensor appliance. The system is available now for $22,000 for the combined set of tools.
