Apple Computer will offer Performa customers Power PC Upgrade Kits at less than half price as part of a settlement of false advertising charges brought against the company by the Federal Trade Commission. Customers who have already purchased the upgrade will receive a $776 rebate. The FTC had charged Apple with making false claims about the availability of the Power PC Upgrade with the purchase of Performa 550, 560, and the Macintosh LC 550.
