Short Take: AOL acquires Extreme Fans

America Online announced that it has acquired Extreme Fans, one of its providers of original sports content. The terms of the deal were not disclosed, however, AOL said it will rename the site the Real Fans Sports Network and issue a full relaunch next year with added content from expanded relationships with sports personalities and new partnerships with media companies.
