Short Take: Amazon expands Net music selections

Amazon.com announced today that it will be expanding the number of selections available in the digital downloads area of its music store. Launched last month with 25 selections from 14 different artists, the downloads area will add 12 songs and eight artists over the next two weeks. Among the new artists: David Byrne, Sheryl Crow, and Barry White. Amazon said in a statement that customers have downloaded approximately 300,000 songs, provided in full-length MP3 and Liquid Audio formats, since the site launched.
