Short: Cardinal to offer 56 kbps modem

Cardinal Technologies announced it will offer products based on a new modem technology developed by Rockwell Semiconductor Systems that will enable Internet connection speeds at 56 kbps, nearly double the current speed rates for current analog modems. Cardinal worked with Rockwell to deliver 33.6-kbps modems that combine data, fax, voice mail and speakerphone capabilities. The new 56-kbps technology utilizes standard analog telephone lines. Cardinal manufacturers modems and ISDN adapters.
