Sapient appoints chief strategy officer
Internet consulting company Sapient appointed consulting veteran Steven Hoffman to the newly created role of chief strategy officer. Hoffman will help lead and evolve the company's efforts to provide strategy-consulting services to clients. The appointment follows the struggling company's disappointing fourth-quarter results amid an overall downturn for Internet-related consulting services primarily among its dot-com clients. Most recently, Hoffman was president of Concrete Media, which helps new and existing companies develop businesses online. Hoffman has also held leadership roles at Exchange Partners, Bain & Co. and CSC Index, Computers Sciences' management consulting arm.
