RIM brings BlackBerry to Australia

Research In Motion announced a deal Thursday with Telstra Mobile to bring the BlackBerry e-mail pager to Australia. "Combined with our GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) network, we are confident that BlackBerry will be very popular with our customers," said Craig Cameron, a managing director at Telstra. "Telstra has already commenced acceptance testing and plans to install pilots in June and commercially roll out the solution later in the year." The companies said that further details about pricing and availability would be announced later. More information is available on Telstra's Web site.
