RightNow to double U.S. sales force

RightNow Technologies, a maker of online customer service applications, said this week that it plans to double the size of its 40-person direct sales force in North America and to expand its distribution partnerships globally. The Bozeman, Mont., company also announced the hire of Peter Dunning, formerly a top sales executive at software giants SAP and Oracle, to oversee its worldwide field operations. In addition, RightNow named Fred Macaraeg as sales manager for Japan.

RightNow is an application service providers that develops, runs and maintains business software for companies for a regular fee. The so-called hosted software that ASPs sell has gained popularity in the past couple years, as companies seek alternatives to traditional business systems that can often be difficult to use and costly to maintain.
