PeopleSoft plans Web-based applications

PeopleSoft debuts Web-based human-resources applications designed to help users analyze and organize personnel strategies.

PeopleSoft today unveiled a set of Web-accessible human resources applications designed to help users analyze and organize current workforce strategies and goals.

The Pleasanton, California-based said that PeopleSoft Workforce Analytics and PeopleSoft Workbenches, a line of Internet-enabled reporting applications, are the business software maker's latest family of products in its Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) suite of business apps.

The company said it introduced the EPM concept of integrated analytic applications to business customers two years ago. Targeted at CEOs and executive management, PeopleSoft EPM was designed to help businesses enter new markets, increase revenue, and grow shareholder value, the company said.

The new Workforce Analytics application enables organizations to conduct a historical analysis of their current workforce situation and simulate future scenarios for compensation structures and employee retention, the company said. The new software can also send compensation and retention information back to the human resources system to support implementation of workforce initiatives.

In addition, the new PeopleSoft Workbenches application built with DecisionMaster, a Web-based reporting tool, that can deliver more than 1,500 reports for financial, human resources, merchandising, customer, and supply chain analysis directly to users.

The new applications are scheduled to be generally available in the fourth quarter of this year. Pricing was not disclosed.
