Optus adds more talk and data to pre-paid plans

For a limited time, pre-paid customers can get bonus mobile data across the different plans, with additional talk time for the lower-tier plan.

After 'streamlining' its pre-paid plan offering back in August last year, Optus is now upping the data limit on all three of its recharge tiers.

Termed the New My Prepaid Monthly, the bonus offers begin today and run until April 19, 2015. Customers who sign up or change from their current Optus plan will get the bonus talk and data offer for the lifetime of their plan.

For the AU$30 recharge, users will receive an additional 500MB of data for a total of 1.5GB. While the call credit remains at AU$350, Optus has included unlimited weekend calls for this plan. This applies to calls made between 12 a.m. on Saturday until 11.59 p.m. on Sunday.

On the AU$45 and AU$60 recharge plans, an extra 1GB of data will be included, making the totals 3GB and 6GB respectively. All other aspects remain the same.

All pre-paid customers with compatible devices will be able to access Optus' 4G Plus network as the company continues to roll out its additional coverage around the country, with a target of reaching 90 percent of the population by April of this year.
