Optiva nabs $30 million

Optiva announced Tuesday it closed a $30 million third round of funding, led by J.P. Morgan Partners. Other investors included Daehong, Eastman Chemical and previous investors Fidulex Management, Harris & Harris Group, Merifin Capital and NextGen Partners. The South San Francisco, Calif.-based company has raised a total of $42.2 million. Optiva develops self-assembling ultrathin nanomaterials for use in optical applications.
