Netscape Licenses Open Text Web Tools

Netscape has announced a deal to incorporate Open Text's Web tools and search engine in a new bundle aimed at business users setting up intranets.

WATERLOO, Ontario--Open Text will team up with Netscape Communications to sell intranet-in-a-box software to business customers.

Under the licensing agreement, the pair will team up to create a version of Netscape's Latitude Intranet System Product Suite that includes Open Text Web search tools.

The Open Text search engine is currently used by internetMCI and IBM infoMarket.
