Net searching gets eyes and ears

Progressive Networks enters a deal with Netword, an Internet search service, to make it easier to find audio and video clips.

Progressive Networks announced a partnership with search company Netword so that users can type in simple words to link to audio and video clips on the Internet.

To use the Netword function, users will need to download software available on both companies' Web sites that runs within a browser.

With this agent, a surfer can type in a movie title, and the browser will be directed to that content. The software allows access to audio and video clips that run within Progressive Networks' popular RealAudio and RealVideo software without requiring users to know complicated URL addresses.

Netword, based in Arlington, Virginia, has been shipping the agent system for Web browsers since May.
