MCI service for Oracle apps

The telco is hoping to cut the time it takes companies to implement Oracle's enterprise resource planning applications.

MCI Communications is speeding up more than the time to connect a phone call.

The long distance company is hoping to cut the time it takes companies to implement Oracle's enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications to as little as four months.

MCI Systemhouse, the telco's information technology consulting wing, is launching a new program for the rapid implementation of Oracle's human resource, financial, and manufacturing management software.

Most of the large ERP vendors are putting in programs and aligning themselves with system integrators to minimize the time and complexity required to implement the huge back-office automation systems.

For its part, MCI Systemhouse is offering customers a package of prebundled hardware, software, and services. The services include training; design, development and testing of integration and data conversion; technology and application upgrades; and post-implementation support and maintenance. The service is available immediately and pricing varies.
