In the wake of last week's announcement that it would be shutting its two surviving NSW Sony Centres, the company has kicked off a liquidation sale.

Signs at the World Square Sony Centre, just below CNET Australia's office, proclaim that "all stock must go". Pricing inside includes a 55-inch Bravia HX750 for AU$1499, a PRST2 eReader for AU$159 and the SANS300 network speaker for AU$149.

Staff at the Drummoyne Sony Centre confirmed that the sale is active there too, with the same pricing. The stores will be closed by 3 March.

According to Current.com.au, Sony plans to replace the Centres with branded kiosks in selected department stores.
