InterSAN, a storage-area management software company, said it received a $7.8 million first round of funding. Wit SoundView Ventures is the lead investor, and others include Alliance Ventures, Morgan Keegan & Co. and Kumar Malavalli, co-founder of Brocade Communications. The Scotts Valley, Calif.-based company plans to use the funds to complete development of its product, which is designed to cut the costs and complexity of managing large storage networks used by multiple companies.
