Intel limiting temporary help

As part of an overall cost-cutting effort, Intel is cutting back on temporary clerical and administrative employees, a company representative confirmed. The company regularly contracts with temporary agencies for part-time help. The cutbacks will not affect contract employees performing maintenance and other tasks on chip equipment machinery, the representative said. These workers, who work for chip equipment makers such as Applied Materials, constitute the bulk of Intel's non-permanent workforce.
