The computing giant wins two lucrative deals to provide retail network hardware and services.
Under the agreement, the Palo Alto, Calif.-based computing giant will supply, install and maintain custom-built information technology products to revamp 7-Eleven's Retail Information System.
The contract covers 5,300 7-Eleven stores across the country. Most of these stores already use HP servers and routers.
In a separate deal announced on Friday, Publix Super Markets placed an order for 16,000 HP RP5000 point-of-sale terminals and 2,000 HP ProLiant servers. The companies did not give out financial details of the deal, but the point-of-sale terminals start at $800 each.
The PC-based cash registers and servers are for installation at Publix's 800-plus supermarkets in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee.
