FreeMarkets cuts sweet deal with Nestle

FreeMarkets, a maker of business-to-business exchanges, has signed an agreement with Nestle USA to use its marketplace software. Under the terms of a 6-month pilot program, FreeMarkets, based in Scottsdale, Ariz., will provide the food manufacturer access to its global online marketplace, which Nestle will use to source goods and services for its operations across the United States. FreeMarkets, which has already created online marketplaces for consumer goods companies such as Quaker Oats and SmithKline Beecham, said Nestle USA is the second division out of Nestle SA to use FreeMarket's software. Nestle Thailand is also a customer.
