Flexi stretches to the Web

Financial applications maker FlexiInternational plans Web links for its software package.

FlexiInternational Software is beta-testing the first phase of new Internet extensions for its client-server financial management systems, FlexiFinancial suite, the company announced today.

The product is designed to allow users to get company information, check the status of purchase requisitions, invoices, and orders, as well as conduct budget variance analysis online with the aid of a standard Web browser. The software saves administration costs and streamlines accounting tasks, the company said.

The 5-year-old Stamford, Connecticut-based software maker said the product will allow its customers to "exploit the Web capabilities without sacrificing performance or security." The company did not specify a shipping date or pricing for the first phase of the extensions.

The second phase of Flexi's Internet plan will produce an ActiveX component version of the company's applications. Beta testing for phase two of the Internet strategy will begin by mid-1997, said Flexi.
