While you were still finishing your first cup of coffee this morning, Facebook was busy kicking off its annual developer's conference, F8.
Since it's a developer-centric function, normal Facebook users probably won't see any of the new features for awhile. That doesn't mean you can't be in-the-know. Below is a round-up of the most important announcements Facebook made during its F8 keynote.
Big on bots
If you hate talking on the phone for customer service, Facebook's hoping to make things a bit easier. Soon you'll be able to get all the help you need by chatting with a bot. The chat bots can also make it easier for you to shop for anything from shoes to flowers.

I spy Oculus glasses in your future
The Oculus Rift just came out, but the big guys at Facebook are already thinking what the headset will look like in 10 years. The goal is for eyewear to eventually replace a VR headset. Next up, contacts?

OK, this isn't big news, but it was interesting to see such a powerful and influential figure throw some thinly veiled shots at expert misogynist and aspiring President of the United States, Donald Trump. He basically called the Republican candidate a scaredy cat that wants to build walls and separate people, whereas Facebook builds bridges to bring people together. Zing!
