EDS teams with Aspect Telecom

The company's Centrobe unit cozies up to the San Jose-based call-center software maker to boost call-center services to corporate customers.

Electronic Data Systems' Centrobe unit and Aspect Telecommunications are cozying up to boost call-center services to corporate customers.

Through the deal, San Jose-based call-center software maker Aspect will work with Boulder, Colorado-based systems integrator Centrobe to help customers connect their voice networks to email systems, voice mail, fax, and the Internet.

Centrobe plans to train and certify its staff to install and use Aspect's call-center applications. The partnership is aimed at Fortune 1000 companies that are trying to tie together all sorts of customer-contact information to better use that data in sales and marketing strategies.

EDS' Centrobe is a marketing services integrator with more than 10,000 employees in 19 countries.
