A U.S. district court on Thursday granted patent holding company NTP its motion to dismiss a case brought against it by Computer Leasco. The court attributed the dismissal to "a failure to state a claim upon which relief could be granted" and a lack of personal jurisdiction for defendants Donald Stout and the estate of NTP co-founder
Thomas Campana.

Computer Leasco filed a complaint late last year seeking to claim patents at the center of NTP's high-stakes case against BlackBerry maker Research In Motion. NTP and RIM settled their dispute earlier this year.
