Consultancy Digitas expands into Asia

Internet consulting company Digitas has expanded into Asia at a time when the overall market slump has most Web consultancies scaling back. The Boston-based company appointed Robert Maher the new president of Digitas Asia and named ex-Scient executive Andrew So the company's managing director of its HongKong office. Moving along with its global expansion, the company recently branched out into Latin America and named a head of Digitas Europe. Prior to joining Digitas, Maher ledsoftware design for Lotus Development in Europe and Asia. So, the recent managing director at Web consultancy Scient, will handle Digitas' expansion into Southeast Asia and manage the telecommunications practice in Hong Kong and Singapore. On Tuesday, Digitas promoted Jeff Cote to the chief executive post. He replaces former CFO Michael Goss who resigned last December to join private investment firm Bain Capital.
