ComponentSource offers code-sharing service

ComponentSource is hosting a private online exchange that allows software developers to share software components across different divisions within a company. is a Web site that sells such software components--pre-built chunks of code programmers can use as building blocks when creating their software. ComponentSource executives say the new service is aimed at helping developers save time and money by allowing them to easily share their components with co-workers and reuse those components. The company said it has signed on computer-services provider Electronic Data Systems to use its private online exchange.
