Wall Street Journal reports wireless company has begun sounding out potential buyers to sell itself.

Wireless company Centennial Communications has begun sounding out potential buyers to sell itself, the Wall Street Journal reported on Saturday, citing people familiar with the matter. A deal could fetch as much as $1.5 billion, the paper said.

The firm may still decide against a sale and any deal is months away, the paper said. It also cited a person familiar with the matter saying that Centennial is considering splitting up its businesses.
