Open-source software specialist Caldera International announced that Shoppers Drug Mart, Canada's largest pharmacy chain, will use Caldera's UnixWare 7 operating system combined with the company's Linux Kernel Personality and SilverStream Application Server software to coordinate computing services throughout the chain's 800 stores. Also adopting the UnixWare 7 product is the California Department of Motor Vehicles, which will use the operating system and Caldera's ReliantHA 1.1 software to produce, track, catalog and manage all drivers' licenses issued by the state.
