BMC unveils wares for service management
BMC Software, the maker of enterprise management software, on Monday announced new products that afford companies greater control over the business services they provide. The products use MasterCell, an adaptive service management product developed by IT Masters, a privately held company that BMC acquired in March.
According to the company, Service Impact Manager (SIM) uses existing enterprise level data on event management, automation and notification to detail the status of business services and service-level agreements, enabling enterprises to manage services in real time and increase the service levels offered to customers. Pricing starts at $80,000. The company said its Event Manager gathers, processes and automates events from the IT infrastructure and feeds this data into SIM, helping the IT organization focus on the most important services provided to the enterprise. Pricing starts at $50,000.
