Bluestone Enhances Tools

In the wake of Net-related announcements from Silicon Graphics, Sun Microsystems, Microsoft, and others earlier this month, one small company is betting a Web development tool that supports open development will be a winner.

MT. LAUREL, New Jersey--Bluestone officials have announced that the company's Sapphire/Web toolset for Net application developers will support Web technology from a slew of companies.

Based on an open architecture, Sapphire/Web will work with Web technology from companies including Microsoft, Netscape Communications, Sun Microsystems, and Silicon Graphics Inc.

Sapphire/Web now includes support for Netscape tables, frames, and LiveScript; Microsoft Internet Explore, Visual Basic Script, OLE browsers; SGI VRML; and Sun Java.

Free evaluation copies of the enhanced toolkit can be downloaded from the Bluestone Web site.
