Asus bows out of Windows RT tablet production
The company says that "Windows RT has not been successful," and so it's time to move on.

Asus has decided that developing Windows RT-based tablets isn't such a good idea.
The company's CEO Jerry Shen told the Wall Street Journal in an interview published Friday that Asus is getting out of the Windows RT market. In the interview, Shen said that "the industry sentiment is also that Windows RT has not been successful."
Shen's decision isn't all that surprising. In a recent interview, he said that Windows RT tablets are "not very promising," adding that his company would focus on slates running Intel processors. Those tablets run Windows 8 Pro, an operating system that has proven somewhat more popular.
