Aruba targets wired network security

Grid architecture aims to protect corporate networks from interior security threats.

Aruba Wireless Networks introduced on Monday a line of products designed to protect wired corporate networks from interior security threats. The Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company said it applied grid architecture developed for wireless systems to wired set-ups. The products, which are built around the new 6000 series of grid controllers and the new 2E wired grid point, will be released early next year, Aruba said.

The products promise to monitor unauthorized usage of corporate networks and to block worms and viruses. Aruba is hoping to tap the market for tools that help companies comply with federal regulations such as those laid down by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, a key section of which went into force on Monday.
