Samsung could introduce a 10.5-inch AMOLED tablet in early January, according to a new report from Korea's ETNews.

Details recently found in a shipping manifest point to at least one of Samsung's next Galaxy Tabs coming with a premium price tag.

Factor in earlier rumors of a high-end line of tablets designed to compete with Apple's iPad and iPad Mini and things line up nicely. It stands to reason that the SM-T331 described in the manifest could be a variant of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab 4.

Rumors have been spinning over the last few weeks that Samsung was readying a tablet with an AMOLED display. In fact, the hardware maker was reportedly eyeing two models for release in early 2014: an 8-inch and a 10-inch model.

Chatter initially suggested the first such device would debut at or around the same time as the Galaxy S5 launch, but that may no longer prove correct.

To be clear, these would not be the first Samsung tablets to feature an AMOLED display. The Galaxy Tab 7.7, introduced in late 2011, offered the screen technology, although the device didn't gain much traction.

If all of the recent whispers and leaks turn out to be true, Samsung will definitely make noise in the first few months of the year. In addition to these AMOLED tablets, Samsung may also have up to five smartphones for the early part of 2014.

With the annual Consumer Electronics Show hitting Las Vegas in the next couple of weeks, we may hear more about Samsung's new devices.
