Sony shows off PS4 hardware design

Sony has finally taken the wraps off the actual design for its next-generation console and revealed Australian pricing.

At its Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) conference in Los Angeles today, Sony finally unveiled the final design for the PlayStation 4.

It looks slightly larger than the current design, but seems to owe more to the slimline PS2 than the PS3. It also seems slightly smaller than the Xbox One.

Sony also showed off a number of exclusive titles, including Gran Turismo 6, Killzone: Shadow Fall, InFamous Second Son and a new IP called The Order: 1886, which seems to mix steampunk and supernatural action.

UPDATED: Sony will sell the PS4 for US$399. Shortly after the conference ended, Sony confirmed an Australian launch price of AU$549.

Sony has also promised a full offline experience for single player games, along with no restrictions for second hand games sales or lending of titles.
