Teen network iTurf preps entertainment site

Alternative music and film service Insound is teaming with the teen network to provide cutting-edge content to young audiences.

Alternative music and film service Insound is teaming with teen network iTurf to provide cutting-edge content to young audiences, the companies announced today.

The retail partnership involves an advertising and revenue sharing agreement based on the percentage of traffic generated to the Web sites, said Christian Anthony, co-founder of Insound.

Insound's collection of CDs and its feature articles on music, film and other topics will appear on iTurf.com, a new site within the iTurf network that is set to officially launch sometime this month. Insound will pay iTurf a percentage of the sales generated from the teen Web site.

iTurf.com will offer alternative music, film reviews, short films and profiles of new artists to its budding audience.

"The products and services fit nicely together," Anthony said in an interview Friday. "We cater to the slightly older male college crowd, and iTurf is more skewed toward teenage girls. It's a natural growth for both companies."

iTurf is a network of Web sites catering to consumers between the ages of 12 and 24 and is the online unit of clothing retailer Delia's.
