Sony licenses anticopying technology

Content Guard, a digital rights management company, said Tuesday that it had licensed much of its copy-protection technology to Sony. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed, and Sony hasn't said how it would use the technology. However, the consumer electronics and media giant has shown increasing interest in building digital rights management tools into its products. Last month, a joint venture owned by Sony and Philips Electronics bought InterTrust Technologies, another struggling digital rights management technology company.
