Snapchat users can now share their entire day via photos that don't immediately disappear.
The social-media service has taken off among people eager to share their photos and videos with friends. One key element to the service is that those photos and videos are supposed to vanish after being viewed. But the new Stories feature enables them to hang around for 24 hours, letting you build a photographic story of your entire day.
You can add a caption and description to each photo or video you share. You can also choose who sees your snaps by creating a Friends list. People who receive your snaps can reply back with their own snaps and comments.
Snapchat described the new feature in a blog posted Thursday.
Snapchat Stories add Snaps together to create a narrative. When you add a Snap to your Story it lives for 24 hours before it disappears, making room for the new. Your Story always plays forward, because it makes sense to share moments in the order you experience them.
Newly equipped with the Stories feature, the latest version of Snapchat is available for iOS and Android.
