Short Take: MS posts Automap software

Microsoft today posted to its Web site Pocket Automap Streets software for Windows CE-equipped handheld PCs. The free software lets users locate hotels, streets, addresses, and other points of interest in 40 metropolitan areas. Microsoft will include the software as part of Windows CE beginning in August. Handheld PC makers, including Hewlett-Packard, Philips Mobile Computing Group, and LG Electronics will bundle the software with their systems beginning later this spring.
