Short Take: Microsoft readies XML parser

Microsoft completed the latest version of its parser for Extensible Markup Language (XML). The revised MSXML parser, available for download, includes support for the Simple API for XML, Version 2 (SAX2). Parsers interpret code and pass it from a document to a browser. SAX2 is an application programming interface that lets applications interpret XML files without needing to load them entirely into memory. Microsoft also said it has improved its parser's support for Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations (XSLT) and Extensible Markup Language Path Language (XPath), two specifications for adding style elements to XML documents.
