Short Take: Infoseek, iVillage launch women's portal

Infoseek and iVillage have teamed up to launch a women's channel on Infoseek. The partnership aims at drawing women, an increasingly popular and lucrative market, to the sites by creating a gateway to the Net specifically tailored to the female market. The site competes with others, including America Online's Electra and veteran player Women.com.
