Short Take: Homestead.com lands $10 million in financing

Web-community builder Homestead.com says it has secured $10 million in funding. Investors for this round include online-security company VeriSign and venture capital firms Redpoint Ventures, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, and Meritech Capital. Homestead provides tools that allow Web users to build home pages with added features such as news, e-mail and instant messaging. The company will use the funding to expand its product and services line.
