Short Take: Commerce Department seeks comments on ".us" domain

The Commerce Department is inviting the public to submit comments on the future expansion and administration of the ".us" top-level domain. The domain belongs to the United States and is currently allocated to states and U.S. territories. Other countries, notably smaller ones such as Tonga, have given private companies the rights to license their top-level domains to anyone who will pay for them.
